Brooklyn Action Theater announces casting for The Concise Fights of William Shakespeare, Abridged and Annotated, an outdoor fight performance.

Casting 8 roles for a diverse ensemble cast, open to all ages, backgrounds, and genders. Stage combat experience and proficiency is required for all roles. All combat arts backgrounds are welcome.

Auditions will be by group appointment in Midtown Manhattan on Sunday, June 7th between 3pm and 7pm.

Time slots are limited and priority will be given to those with strong combat backgrounds.

Auditions will include a fight call. Please dress appropriately in clothes you can move in and wear closed-toed athletic shoes. You do not need to prepare anything in advance, sides will be shared at auditions. 

Video submissions with fight reel welcome, please email by the morning of Sunday, June 7th.

Show Dates

Two performances a day, at 6:30pm and 7:30pm; running approximately 30 min.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

Rehearsal dates TBD - 2 to 3 days per week outdoors, mid-June - August

All performers will receive a one time stipend of $50 for the production, plus equal split of donations from every performance.

Brooklyn Action Theater is a new stage combat and action arts centered production company based out of Sunset Park and serving the sword-loving theater community of New York City! We produce action-packed stories with theatrical violence highlighting the elevated themes of those works and the skills of New York City’s diverse combat arts community.
